Terms

Last updated: April 2026

These terms apply to engagements with Commercial Weight Consultancy, operated by Andy Jobber, and to use of this website at commercialweight.co.uk.

Engagements

All engagements are agreed in writing before work begins. The scope, deliverables, timeline, and fee are confirmed in a written brief or engagement letter. Work does not commence until the scope is agreed and, where applicable, an invoice is raised and payment terms are accepted.

The output of a Commercial Weight engagement is an analytical document — a written report applying the Five Layers of Commercial Intent framework to the agreed scope. The client receives the report and is free to act on its findings as they see fit. Commercial Weight does not guarantee specific commercial outcomes from the analysis or from any actions the client takes in response to it.

Fees and payment

Fees are fixed and agreed before work begins. Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing. For engagements beginning without prior relationship, a deposit of 50% may be required before work commences, with the balance due on delivery.

Fees are not discounted once agreed. If scope needs to flex, the fee is adjusted accordingly — rate is not discounted.

Intellectual property

The Five Layers of Commercial Intent framework, the commercial weight methodology, and any analytical tooling used to produce outputs are proprietary to Commercial Weight Consultancy. They are not transferred, licensed, or shared as part of any engagement. The client owns the written report produced for them and may use it internally without restriction.

The content published on this website — including the sector analyses, methodology descriptions, and all written material — is the intellectual property of Commercial Weight Consultancy. It may not be reproduced, republished, or distributed without permission.

Confidentiality

Commercial Weight treats all client information as confidential. Business context, strategic questions, and any proprietary information shared during an engagement are not disclosed to third parties. Where a client wishes to be referenced in case study material, this is agreed explicitly and in advance.

Independence

Commercial Weight does not hold execution contracts, channel partnerships, or affiliate arrangements that would create a financial interest in any particular analytical finding. The practice's independence from execution is structural. Clients should be aware that the analysis may challenge existing strategies or agency relationships — that is its purpose.

Limitation of liability

Commercial Weight's liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fee paid for that engagement. The practice is not liable for commercial decisions made by the client on the basis of the analysis, or for outcomes arising from actions the client takes in response to the report.

Website use

This website is provided for informational purposes. The sector analyses published here are demonstrations of the methodology and are not tailored to any specific business. They should not be relied upon as advice for any particular commercial situation without a bespoke engagement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
